Wall Mounted Magazine Rack
So you decided to buy a wall mounted magazine rack. So you go out to your local home improvement store, shop around and buy the rack that would look great in your living room. So you get it home and unpack everything but realize something pretty quickly. It isn’t as easy to put it up as the picture or instructions make it seem. So as panic starts to set in, you realize that you might need some help to get started on installing the wall mounted magazine rack. It really is pretty simple if you just follow some simple instructions.
The first thing that you need to do prior to putting up the wall mounted magazine rack is to take inventory of all the parts. You should be able to find the inventory list on the first few pages of the instruction book. Make sure you have everything that you are supposed to. If you find that you are missing something, then it would probably be best to return it to the store that you bought it. They will either give you the piece or will give you a complete new unit. Don’t do what I have done in the past. What I have done is find something close to the part I am missing in my garage to save me a trip back to the store. The parts just don’t match up and your wall mounted magazine rack will just look like garbage.
Once you have everything then it is time to find a spot for your wall mounted magazine rack in your home. Once a spot is picked out, you need to mark the wall with a pencil. This will give you a guide as to where to start drilling. Once the holes are completed, then it is ok to put the screws that came with the wall mounted rack into the holes. Make sure that you are using the correct screws though. More then likely, these screws will have a wide or fat head on them. This is very important since you will be using these screws to actually attaching the wall mounted magazine rack to the wall.
After the screws are in the wall, you should then take the wall mounted magazine rack out. It will probably be protected with some sort of plastic so take it out and inspect it. Make sure there are no defects. If it is scratched or nicked in anyway, then you should return it. If all is ok, then its time to install. If you turn the rack around, you should see a few notches, or slots. Depending on how big it is, you should have at least 2, but possibly as much as 6. Line the slots or notches up with the fat head screws that are installed on the wall. Then, push the wall mounted magazine rack flush against the wall, once flushed, then slightly push down until you cant go any further. Make sure it is level and you should be all set.
Putting that wall mounted magazine rack up isn’t too difficult. All you need is some patience.
